It seems like every couple of months, there's a new concept for a VR device, like a treadmill, eye tracking, lens type, tracking tech, haptic vest, or one of the most common ones, gloves. It makes sense, the beauty of Virtual Reality is how immersive it is and the sense of presence that the player can get through it, but of course touch is a large piece missing from the puzzle. Finding that missing piece is one of the many Holy Grails in the VR industry. In the video below, you can see one of the more interesting ideas a group has had for a VR glove.
It's clearly very early on compared to many other concepts out there, but it's just interesting to me to see how the go about their method with metal strips that lock together with an electric current. Will it work better than other exoskeleton designs? We will just have to wait and see. Until then, I wonder what the next cool VR peripheral idea will be?
